I see you seeing me

There is an amazing phenomenon happening right in front of our eyes. Nope, not talking about Tik-Tok LOL (but that blog is coming soon). I’m talking about the presence of loving voices on social media platforms. Yep, I’m speaking about what human beings are doing, not what they aren’t doing.
It can be easy to fall into the trap of negativity and dismay in the times we are living in. I’ve been guilty of it, and I struggle sometimes to stay on the positive side of my lens. But I believe that our perspective is, in fact, influenced in these times by what we choose to see and not see.
So many of my timelines on my platforms are filled with what can easily be described as the Fruity Pebbles mixture of thoughts on our current global social climate. Memes and posts ranging from full-on hate speech to funny dance moves by an Instagram celeb. Either way, one could feel as though the world has just flipped upside down and decided to reveal the worst of who we are.
But, thankfully, I see something that is happening and hopefully you see it as well. I see people sharing their feelings of hope and love and resilience. Yes, (lol) amid all of the craziness that social media platforms encourage to take center stage, I see the positive images and words from people who refuse to allow negativity into their ethos.
I see this loving spirit because I wake up seeking it. I open my eyes with intention. I want to be grateful, hopeful, and joyful. How do you wake up? If you struggle like I do sometimes, maybe it’s time to divest from some things and invest in others. I am investing in positivity on platforms such as Tik-Tok and others. I am intentionally turning off the news when I need a heart reset.
The truth is, whatever we want to find, we can find it. If it’s love you truly want in your life, then it’s out there. You want positive affirmations of goodness in the world, oh yeah, it’s out there as well. I began to recognize that “If I see something (good), I’m going to say something.” I am going to be a contributor to the tribe that is intentionally living in a positive mindset and sharing their heart with the world, and pray others join us. That’s my intention.
I sometimes fall short, and we all do. But I try each day to make sure that I am adding value to our world. Because we need each other; and regardless of who you are, where you are from, or what you look like, I love you, God loves you, and the world needs more of all the goodness that we have to give.
